One year on: A year of growth with TalarMade

Rockpool Investments is pleased to mark one year since its investment in TalarMade, a fast-growing provider of medical devices and clinical services, with strong progress made against the Year 1 plan set out at the time of investment.

Rockpool invested in TalarMade in 2025 to capitalise on the company’s strong market position across orthotics, pressure care and NHS clinical services. Founded in 2002, TalarMade has established itself as a leader in own-brand medical devices, with a diversified portfolio of orthotic and pressure care solutions developed by in-house clinicians and grounded in medical evidence-based design, regulatory compliance and improved patient outcomes. The company also delivers clinical services in partnership with the NHS, providing specialist patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment for musculoskeletal conditions within NHS Trusts nationwide.

Shortly following Rockpool’s investment, TalarMade strengthened its board with the appointment of Frank Collins OBE as a Non-Executive Director, bringing extensive healthcare and private equity experience to support the company’s next phase of growth. Nick Taylor also joined as Finance Director, with further investment made across the Commercial and Clinical teams.

TalarMade has continued to make strong progress in product development over the past year, with over 80% of sales now made up of proprietary medical devices, a reflection of the company’s long-standing focus on evidence-based, own-brand innovation. The KinetiX and DiabetiX medical insole ranges have been successfully launched over the past twelve months, with further new product launches across TalarMade’s pressure care range also progressing well.

Rockpool has worked closely with TalarMade’s management team to identify and advance acquisition opportunities, both in the UK and Europe. This growth strategy is underpinned by strong structural tailwinds in TalarMade’s end markets, including rising rates of musculoskeletal conditions, and growing demand for outsourced specialist care within the NHS.

“TalarMade has made excellent progress in its first year as a Rockpool portfolio company. The board has been strengthened with real depth of healthcare and financial expertise, the product pipeline continues to go from strength to strength, and we’re now working with the team on a strong pipeline of acquisition opportunities in the UK and Europe. It’s exactly the kind of growth story we look for, and we’re looking forward to supporting Ryan and the team through the next stage.”
