Rockpool completes the successful exit of Hydralectric International
Rockpool has exited its investment in Hydralectric, a market leading provider of premium valves and flexible hose solutions to control water flow. The sale generates a net return of 3.6x for equity investors, and marks the fourth exit for Rockpool within the last twelve months.
During Rockpool’s investment period, Hydralectric grew substantially as a result of both organic growth and two bolt-on acquisitions. Organic growth was driven by new product development, investment in manufacturing capabilities, and the deepening of relationships with new and existing blue chip customers. The acquisitions of Compraelec in France and Eki in Slovenia provided the group with additional expertise and a presence in mainland Europe.
The group has been acquired by Hydraflex, a market leading specialist in the flexible hose market undertaking a buy-and-build across plumbing, metal and industrial hoses. Hydralectric will form a significant and strategically important part of the group.
Simon Collins and Toby Hurdle led the exit for Rockpool.
“It has been a pleasure working with the Hydralectric team during our period of investment. The business has grown well and sustainably to become a leading European player in the market with a wider offering and impressive customer base. Hydraflex will be the perfect partner to help continue this growth journey.”
Simon Collins, Investment Manager at Rockpool Investments“Rockpool have been a supportive partner and have been a pleasure to work alongside. With Rockpool’s support we have strategically strengthened Hydralectric by significant investment to build a business with a broader product portfolio and greater technical capability. Hydraflex are the natural buyer for the business and I wish Duncan and Jay MacBain every success for the future as they build Hydraflex.”
Andrew Bristow, Executive Chairman of HydralectricAdvisers
The Company and its shareholders were advised by Stephenson Harwood. Hydraflex was advised by Sentio Partners, Addleshaw Goddard, and Kreston Reeves.
