Tom Coey promoted to Partner and Investment Committee Member at Rockpool
We are pleased to announce the promotion of Tom Coey from Investment Director to Partner. Tom will also join the Investment Committee at Rockpool, alongside Head of Investment Andrew Green, Managing Partner Matt Taylor, and Partner Darran Green.
Since joining Rockpool in 2017, Tom has played a pivotal role in leading several successful investments, bolt-on acquisitions, and exits for the firm. He currently works closely with portfolio companies across the business services and technology sectors.
Tom’s promotion follows the highly successful exit of Mecsia to Synova in 2024, which generated a blended return of 7.0x capital invested across four rounds of funding, including an 11.0x return for investors that supported the original MBO in 2020. Under Rockpool’s ownership, Mecsia increased revenues from £15 million to over £100 million, making it one of the UK’s fastest-growing technical services businesses – powered by organic growth and four strategic acquisitions.
Tom’s current investment portfolio includes Communicate, a provider of IT connectivity and cybersecurity services, which has completed two bolt-on acquisitions in the 9 months since Rockpool’s investment. He also leads the firm’s investment in ERA, a cloud infrastructure-as-a-service provider supporting clients across post-production, visual effects, and broadcast media industries. Alongside members of the Rockpool investment team, Tom has also led or played a key role in the successful exits of Smyle to Identity Global, TrustedHousesitters to Mayfair Equity Partners and Fortus to AIB Equity Capital, generating significant returns for investors in the process.
This news comes at an exciting time for the firm following the Real Deals PE House of the Year Award win just last week.
