What was the investment thesis?

Rockpool provided equity and mezzanine funding to support a 2018 management buy-in of Interact, a training company specialising in experiential learning. This was followed by further investment in 2019 to fund the acquisition of Apex Training and Development, a fast-growing sales and negotiation training business. Alchemist was created in 2022 to consolidate the success of Interact and Apex.

What was Rockpool’s value add?

After a sustained period of rapid growth, Rockpool exited its investment in Alchemist in 2024 to Horizon Capital, a mid-market private equity fund. Rockpool invested a minority stake in the acquiring company.
